OUR PART
Today's reading:  Leviticus 25-27

"I will walk among you; I will be your God, and you will be my people."  Leviticus 26:12 NLT

Aaah, another of God's promises.  An assurance of His presence and His blessing.  A comfort for our troubled hearts.  A 'Get-Out-Of-Hell Free' card of sorts.

But, as with most of the promises in the Bible, this one comes with a stipulation most of us want to/tend to/try to overlook.

"If you keep my laws and are careful to obey my commands..."  Leviticus 26:3 NLT

He promises to claim us as His, bless us as His and walk close beside us--if we do things His way.

That's not what love is all about, you say?

I believe you're wrong.  That's exactly what real love is--wanting the absolute very best for someone, not settling for anything less than that best and desiring to give them all you can (and more) for their efforts.

He truly loves us, hence the regulations.

Are we truly loving Him?
