BATHSHEBA
Today's reading: 1 Chronicles 3-4

"The sons born to David in Jerusalem included Shimea, Shobab, Nathan and Solomon. Bathsheba, the daughter of Ammiel, was the mother of these sons." 1 Chronicles 3:5 NLT

Bathsheba herself might have thought that the only mention she would receive was the sordid list of events in 2 Samuel 11.

She had probably been told by her enemy, some close friends and even family members that from that point on, she would only be known by the occurrences orchestrated by the king.

She may have walked around the palace with her head bowed low, knowing that people knew. Suspected maybe they whispered about her when she wasn't around. Maybe she figured people were very well aware of what kind of woman she was now known to be.

All because of the circumstances she found herself in with David. Circumstances none of us know if she had any say over or not. Circumstances that placed her in quite a predicament. Circumstances that could have/would have/should have left her broken, stained or dead.

But in today's reading, she is mentioned as a momma to princes, most notably, a future king!

That gives me hope.

God can use us and wants to use us, friends--no matter the past!

My Instagram feed had this quote on it today, and I believe it was placed there by God to focus my thoughts on His Word and the truth in it...
