SHOW US, LORD
Today's reading: Numbers 5-8
"Then the Lord said to Moses, Instruct Aaron and his sons to bless the people of Israel with this special blessing: May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace." Numbers 6:22-26 NLT
I have heard this prayer repeated numerous times throughout my life.
But this morning?
This morning I notice a specific portion of the last sentence of the prayer...
'May the Lord show you his favor.'
God knew, oh how God knew, we are people who need to be shown!
We need to have glimpses of His favor and grace placed right in front of us.
We need to see how precious we are to Him.
But I also read it as this:
We need to be on the lookout for His grace and favor!
We need to be expecting it to show up in our day, to be evident in our lives, to be able to be seen as we go about our living for Him.
