OVERWHELMED
Today's reading:  Psalm 69-71

"I will tell everyone about your righteousness.  All day long I will proclaim your saving power, for I am overwhelmed by how much you have done for me."  Psalm 71:15 NLT

Being overwhelmed usually has a negative connotation attached to it.

We're often swamped with problems, devastated by circumstances, drowning in sorrows or crushed with stress.

But our psalmist has chosen, yes it is a choice, to be overwhelmed by all God had done for him.

Shouldn't that overwhelm us?

Shouldn't all God has given to us knock our socks off each and every morning?

Shouldn't we be dumbfounded by the love He shows us, the mercy He extends to us, the grace He chooses to cover us with?

Shouldn't we be emotionally and mentally incapacitated by the power of His salvation over our sins?

Shouldn't we not know what to do with all the blessings God showers on us?

Bills and problems do pile up, I'll not deny that fact.  But if we were to pile them up against all God has done for us--let's be honest, His pile overwhelms!
