NO TRADES FOR ME
Today's reading: Psalm 105-107

"The people made a calf at Mount Sinai, they bowed before an image made of gold. They traded their glorious God for a statue of a grass-eating ox! They forgot God, their savior, who had done such great things in Egypt--such wonderful things in that land, such awesome deeds at the Red Sea." Psalm 106:19-22 NLT

Think you wouldn't? Think again, brother and sister!

Haven't you pushed God aside to bow low at the feet of pride? Refusing to do what's asked because of the low level you'd be called to stoop to, the neediness you might be called to exhibit, the service you'd have to give when in all reality service is what you deserved?

Aren't you the one who has placed doubt ahead of God's provision, goodness and promises? Your grass-eating statue held top priority in your head and heart for a good, long while. Your decision to doubt clearly stated your belief in doubt and disbelief in your Creator.

Wasn't it you who chose to believe and worship, by your words, acts and thoughts, the idol of fear instead of God? Did your idol of fear cause you to miss out on a blessing? Did your dedication to fear affect others?

Still think you wouldn't trade? Yes, it hit me squarely in the heart, too.
