HARD TO SAY
Today's reading: Jeremiah 40-43
"Whether we like it or not, we will obey the Lord our God to whom we send you with our plea. For if we obey him, everything will turn out well for us." Jeremiah 42:6 NLT
Would you agree with me in saying, those words are hard ones to say and mean?
To stand before God. To take an oath before men. To state to yourself, that whatever God asks of you--you'll do it. Whether you like it or not. Whether you understand it or not. Whether you see the whole, clear, laid out picture, or not.
It's hard even when we know, we down-deep in our hearts know, that it is what's best. It is the ONLY way everything will turn out well for us. It is what we have been created for.
But, gulp, sometimes, well, sometimes, it scares the liver out of us to say-- Whatever You want of me, Lord.
