FRUIT
Today's reading:  John 16-18

"And when he comes, he will convince the world of its sin, and of God's righteousness, and of the coming judgement."  John 16:8 NLT

Who is 'he'?

The Holy Spirit.  Jesus is telling his disciples that He will come when Christ leaves them.  He assures them of His power, His abilities, His presence.

Jesus is no longer on this earth, but He is here.

So why isn't the world convinced of its sin, God's righteousness and the coming judgement?  Why aren't all churches packed to overflowing every Sunday?  Why does evil still seem to reign?

Could it be because there are many Christ-followers who are not allowing the Holy Spirit to work in and through their lives?

Could it be we His 'fruit-bearers' are not producing the fruit?

Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control are the fruit listed in Galatians 5 as results of the Holy Spirit at work in a life...how's your life measuring up?

Am I promoting the Holy Spirit to a world needing to be convinced?
