 ALWAYS IN PRAYER

Today's reading: 1 Samuel 11-15

"Then Samuel went home to Ramah, and Saul returned to his house in Gibeah. Samuel never went to meet with Saul again, but he mourned constantly for him. And the Lord was sorry he had ever made Saul king of Israel." 1 Samuel 15:34-35 NLT

We had a prayer meeting Sunday afternoon at our church.

We met to pray for our church, our church leaders, our nation and our national leaders.

Even those national leaders we may not have personally selected on our ballots.

Maybe specifically and especially those we didn't select on our own personal ballots.

Because if you really stop and think about it, as important as voting is, to know that God places in power who He deems necessary is a huge thing!

So, despite our differences.

Regardless of our political views.

No matter our party preferences.

Putting aside our emotions and feelings.

As Samuel did, we have to constantly keep our 'kings' in our hearts and minds through prayer.

We cannot write them off due to poor speeches, poorer voting records or poorer-than-poor life choices.

We cannot choose to not support them because we don't like them, don't like their stances, don't like their views.

We cannot, as Christians, disrespect them if we truly believe they only sit in the office God has placed them in for such a time as this.
