USING IT FOR GOD
Today's reading: 2 Chronicles 1-4

"Solomon took a census of all foreigners in the land of Israel, like the census his father had taken, and he counted 153,600. He enlisted 70,000 of them as common laborers, 80,000 as stonecutters in the hill country and 3,600 as foremen." 2 Chronicles 2:17-18 NLT

Just like his father, Solomon took a census. Only this census was to count all the leftover 'ites' living in the land of God.

You remember, the '-ites' don't you? The Amorites, the Girgashites, the Hittites, the Hivites, the Jebusites and the Perizzites. The tribes of people who had inhabited the Promised Land before Moses, Aaron and the Israelites arrived.

Well, some of these people remained in the land when Solomon took over power.

So he put them to use.

He made them work for the people.

We can do that, too.

The history our enemy has left us with--we can use it to glorify God!

The story line that led us up to God's throne and forgiveness--we can use it to lead others to the Lord!

The obstacles our enemy throws in our way--we can use them as stepping stones to climb higher to God!

The lies satan tells us--we can identify them, refute them and bring them into the light of God's Word and His truth!

We can make it all work for us, for the glory of the Lord!
