GENERATIONAL
Today's reading: Psalm 42-44
"O God, we have heard it with our own ears--our ancestors have told us of all you did in other days, in days long ago." Psalm 44:1 NLT
I don't know where you fall in your family tree of faith...
Maybe you are several generations baptized--your parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and great-great grandparents all walked and talked with the Lord.
Maybe you are the offspring of someone new to the Lord and His ways.
Quite possibly you are a first generation believer, one who is blazing a brand new trail.
Where ever you find yourself in this ancestral breakdown, you have either...
1. Heard the Lord praised and applauded for all your years. Your faith walk has been strengthened and solidified by their testimonies. And you get to continue the family tradition!
OR...
2. New things begin with you! A new way of doing things starts with you. A new way of talking. A new path to walk. A brand-spanking new set of traditions to commence!
How exciting to be either one or the other...to be entrusted with 'family treasures' OR to begin the collection of 'family treasures'!
