THE DETAILS OF WAITING

Today's reading: 2 Samuel 1-4

These first four chapters of Second Samuel give detailed accounts of the process by which David was finally put in the role of king.

It was a long drawn out wait for David.

Years passed between the time Samuel anointed a very young shepherd boy fresh out of the field.

A lot of time was spent David playing the harp for King Saul, soothing the spirits that plagued him.

Many battles were fought to prove David's prowess on the battlefield.

Occasions came and went in which David discovered his true friends and his deceiving enemies.

It was all worth the wait.

It was all in God's ordained time.

It was all necessary for David to step in as king, at the proper time, with the proper experiences under his belt and with the proper backing of godly, faithful friends.

Whatever it is you are waiting on is well within God's ordained time, too.

You cannot doubt that He is at work in situations you cannot see.

You cannot doubt that He has not heard.

He is working on the details while you wait. It will all be worth it!
