 ASKING RIGHTLY

Today's reading: 1 Kings 1-4

"Give me an understanding mind so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong." 1 Kings 3:9 NLT

Solomon asked for God's insight into living a life pleasing to God.

Not to know why God does what He does.

Not to know when God would do what He promised He would do.

Not to advance Solomon's agenda or to give Solomon a leg up.

He asked for God to guide him so that he could honor Him.

Solomon became the wisest man to live. Only because he asked rightly.

It makes me want to reevaluate what I ask for, how I ask for it and the reasons I ask.
