STRENGTH
Today's reading: 1 Samuel 28-31

"David was now in serious trouble because his men were very bitter about losing their wives and children, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the Lord his God." 1 Samuel 30:6 NLT

Strength-the quality or state of being strong; the power to resist force; power of resisting attack; the quality that allows someone to deal with problems in a determined and effective way.

Ever wasted time trying to do something your way?

Ever spun your wheels attempting to not have to ask for help?

Ever bought in to Satan's lies that we should be able to do it ourselves, not have to ask anyone for anything?

It's never worked well for me, how about you?

David's entire life was an example to us of how to constantly and consistently seek out the Lord.

When he was faced with a problem--he sought God.

When he was chased by enemies--he sought God.

When he didn't know which way to turn--he sought God.

When he was heartbroken--he sought God.

When he had done wrong-he sought God.

That was David's strength, that he knew he had none except for what God provided him.

Is it ours?
