WHERE DO WE GO NEXT?
Today's reading: Numbers 33-36

"They left the Sin Desert and camped at Dophkah." Numbers 33:12 NLT

The Bible's reference to the 'Sin Desert' has always caught my eye.

A perfect analogy.

An excellent way to describe that place in which we lose ourselves and forget God.

Today, however, I noticed this single verse and I wondered...

In life, where do we go after the Sin Desert?

What's next?

Where does one go from there?

So, I looked up the town/area of Dophkah--and was tickled by the Lord's revelation!

Dohpkah was a copper mining area. An industrious manufacturing city of its time. A place that prosperous, well-watered and thriving.

It's name means, 'to cling to or adhere'.

Oh friend, isn't that just what we do after having camped for a time in the desert of sin? We cling, ever so tightly to the One who rescues us!

This morning I don't know where you are, as we are all in one spot or the other,  sinning or clinging.

If you are camped in the Desert of Sin, seek God's face. Call out to Him. Accept all the forgiveness He is offering you. Turn from your sins.

If you are currently clinging to Him, stuck to Him like glue, attached to Him in such a way as He could not shake you--keep it up!!!
