THE WAY YOU DO

Today's reading: 1 Samuel 16-20

"...The Lord doesn't make decisions the way you do..." 1 Samuel 16:7 NLT

I don't know about you, but I needed that reminder today.

You see, while I sit around expecting to see God work in 'this way', I tend to miss out on His works going on all around me!

I pray for specific answers, and consider a prayer unanswered if He doesn't respond in my pre-prayed way.

I present God with a distinct plan of action, and sit cross-legged in my prayer chair until it happens.

I provide a complete set of parameters in which I desire God work, and when He doesn't perform to my expectations--well, I teeter on the edge of amazingly surprised and audaciously appalled that He didn't follow my suggestions.

Oh, I don't think I'm the only one whose faith walk looks like that.

That's why I needed the reminder of His ways being different-better-wiser-more well thought out-than my own!
