ENJOYING THE SPOILS

Today's reading: Deuteronomy 20-22

"...You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the Lord your God has given you." Deuteronomy 20:14 NLT

As you sit at your Thanksgiving table, I pray you know this...

As His child, no matter how 'newly adopted' you are or if you have had a good, long life with Him...

...enjoy all that's around you!

Spend some time thanking Him for the process through which you've accumulated all your blessings.

Ponder the hard times He walked you through and the spiritual muscles you've exercised.

Consider how many chapters of your testimony you'd have erased--and how many blessings you would be missing today had God handed you that 'eraser'.

Think lovingly about the people who have poured into your faith--and those who have caused you to dig deep into your relationship with the Lord in order to tolerate them.

Many of us will be surrounded by the spoils of our enemy.

We will be seated, perhaps, next to 'what the enemy meant for evil'.

I believe, if we will consider it all long enough, we will all have to say...

Oh Lord God, You have been too, too good to us!
