A FATHER'S ADVICE

Today's reading: Proverbs 4

"My father told me, Take my words to heart. Follow my instructions and you will live." Proverbs 4:4 NLT

It's no coincidence that today, Father's Day, God has me in a chapter labeled, A Father's Wise Advice.

I won't go so far as to wrongly assume we have all had great, godly fathers. I won't even paint a picture that leads us to think we have all even had nice fathers. 

But we have all had fathers.

Fathers that we can learn something from. Fathers whose lives will teach us lessons. Fathers who we can mimic or fathers we can use as 'what not to do' role models.

Blessed are those of us with good, God-led dads, but also blessed are those of us who were given the gift of life by men who did not pour into our lives their influence and impact.
