JESUS'S LINEAGE

Today's reading: Luke 3-4

In turning the pages of my Bible this morning, I will be honest--I let out a sigh as I saw that Luke 3 held several verses of 'begats'.

The hard to stay focused on, of little interest, consisting of names that are tough to read, passages of Scripture that trace lineage and ancestry.

It's kind of like reading the code lines of DNA--possible, but a little dry and requires some background to truly appreciate it.

But as I read through the list of Jesus's grandparents, I see this:

Who we come from matters as much as who follows us.

Jesus was born out of many, many God ordained relationships.

And God willing, we will bear offspring who know and love the Lord.

It's very important to remember who we are AND the mark we will leave behind.
