BUT WHEN I AM AFRAID

Today's reading: Psalm 54-56

"But when I am afraid, I put my trust in you." Psalm 56:3 NLT

Does fear ever grip your heart, steal your next breath or shadow the hope you should have?

Do circumstances leave you wringing your hands, picking up pieces of well-laid plans or send you to a corner to hide?

It happens to us all.

Life happens to us all.

It's what we do in those moments that will turn the tide of events--in our heads and in our hearts.

We must put our trust in God.

Not in the strongest loved ones we know. Or in doctors. Or in titles, degrees, bank accounts or pedigrees.

Our hope is in the Lord.

And when we choose to remind ourselves of that simple, yet world changing, fact...

When we consciously focus on that truth..

As we take the next step, and the next step, and the next step, in that confidence... 

We will find that hope pushes out the fear.
