I HAVE FOUND OUR PURPOSE
Today's reading: Jeremiah 22-26

"This is what the Lord says: Be fair minded and just. Do what is right! Help those who have been robbed, rescue them from their oppressors. Quit your evil deeds! Do not mistreat foreigners, orphans and widows." Jeremiah 22:3 NLT

Summed up in one single verse is our purpose as the Church!

Be fair minded.

Be just.

Help those robbed--robbed of dignity, robbed of eternity, robbed of a place of belonging.

Rescue--the prisoners of sin, the captives of the enemy, those bound in chains of doubt.

Quit our evil deeds.

Do not mistreat foreigners, orphans or widows--those lacking someone to stand up and stand in for them.

That's a mighty tall order for us to carry out.

But isn't it essential?

Isn't it the only proper response for people who have had that done for them?
