GIVING BLESSINGS
Today's reading: Genesis 44-47
"Then Joseph brought his father, Jacob, and presented him to Pharoah, and Jacob blessed Pharoah. How old are you, Pharoah asked him. Jacob replied, I have lived for 130 hard years, but I am not nearly as old as many of my ancestors. Then Jacob blessed Pharaoh again before he left." Genesis 47:7-10 NLT
Here's what I want us to do today...
When in positions of any sort today, look for ways to bless someone.
If you are in line at the customer service counter, look for ways to bless the customer service representative.
If you are selling your wares to a customer, look for ways to bless them-whether they buy from you or not.
If you are being helped by a doctor or nurse, ask God for a way to bless their day while you are in their presence.
If you are busy about your home, ask God for eyes to see ways in which you can bless those in your household-ways beyond the usual tasks of laundry, meal prep and taxi service.
Pharoah held in his possession what Jacob and his family needed that day- land, food, employment and acceptance. Jacob, however, in his needy position held God in his heart and was able to bless from the abundance he experienced.
Look for ways to bless any and all you can.
