SO I CAN PRAISE YOU
Today's reading: Psalm 9-11
"Save me, so I can praise you publicly at Jerusalem's gates, so I can rejoice that You have rescued me." Psalm 9:14 NLT
God,
Might I borrow David's prayer?
Could I use it to express to You what I want most?
You see, I pray (and pray and pray) for You to step in to so many different situations and hearts.
I ask You to touch lives and change minds--including my own.
I ask that You be glorified in it all.
Not that I be seen as some great prayer warrior...
Or that people are drawn to me so that I might carry their requests to You...
Or that my name be associated with anything to do with the answer...
But that You receive all the glory and honor!
That when folks see the answer, they cannot help but say, Oh, that was God!
Continue to allow me the privilege to pray, to come before You with the needs and wants of my heart--but always, always make sure the spotlight is on You!
Amen
