 PARTICIPATION

Today's reading: Luke 23-24

"Herod was delighted at the opportunity to see Jesus, because he had heard about him and had been hoping for a long time to see him perform a miracle." Luke 23:8 NLT

There is a whole lot of Herod in us all.

How's that, you ask?

Well, to be quite honest, we're all about the celebrity of Christ...

The wonderment of the Lord...

The gift-giving abilities of Jesus...

But like Herod, we want to stand back and watch the miracles--but have not participation in them!

We want things changed in the snap of a godly finger, but don't want to put the sweat equity into it.

We want things turned around with the touch of His hands, but don't want to wait on it to happen.

We want what's best for our lives, contentment, joy and peace--and we know He hold all those things, but we don't want Him to have to make in changes in us, our lifestyles, our convictions or our habits.

See? We are kinda like Herod. We want to experience Jesus from a distance, not up close!
