 IDOLS

Today's reading: Psalm 114-116

"Their idols are merely things of silver and gold, shaped by human hands. They cannot talk, though they have mouths, or see, though they have eyes! They cannot hear with their ears, or smell with their noses, or feel with their hands, or walk with their feet, or utter sounds with their throats! And those who make them are just like them, as are all who trust in them." Psalm 115:4-8 NLT

Maybe your local Chinese restaurant has one, too The jade-like, cross-legged, couch-potato belly, bald-headed Buddha.

I have to admit, he is almost comical. As a girl from the 70's, he for most appearances, reminds me of Boss Hogg from the Dukes of Hazzard.

If only, and I truly mean if only, every idol would be so easily spotted. So quickly recognized. So quickly rendered inept at attempting to fill a spot made for God alone. So quickly placed up next to God and found lacking.
