 SAPPED OF STRENGTH

Today's reading: Hosea 1-7

"Worshiping foreign gods has sapped their strength, but they don't even know it..." Hosea 7:9 NLT

Ever come up to a 'faith mountain' and found that your faith gear was lacking?

You didn't have it in you to do it again?

What worked last time wasn't going to power you through again?

The same ease with which you sailed over the last hurdle wasn't even going to get you up to this one?

Maybe, just maybe, like the words found in Hosea this morning, you had let your guard down. You had been coasting. You, like so many of us, had chosen to believe smooth seas allowed for 'vacation time' instead of boot camp?

It's so easy to let little gods come in and steal away time, attention, devotion and worship from the One True God. And when that happens, our strength is sapped away bit by bit and we don't even notice it until it's time to fight.

And we find out that in the smallest of skurmishes we tucker out too easily.

Way too easily.

So, let's all re-group. Let's re-focus. Let's re-enlist in God's boot camp and lace up our gear for a training session of the heart, mind and body. One that will prepare us for any battle!
