 SOMETIMES IT IS A WHISPER

Today's reading: Psalm 27-29

"The voice of the Lord echoes above the sea. The God of glory thunders. The Lord thunders over the mighty sea. The voice of of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord if full of majesty. The voice of the Lord splits the mighty cedars; the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon." Psalm 29:3-5 NLT

The power, intensity, volume and range of God's voice far exceeds anything you or I could  imagine, grasp, monitor, graph or explain.

It can do more, bring about more, cause more to happen than we can imagine, hope or dream.

But let's be perfectly clear...it can also sometimes be a gentle whisper.

In the middle of the night it can be as soft as a lullaby of peace.

At the end of a church service it can be as beckoning as a hymn of invitation to the altar.

In a waiting room it can be a moment of reason when facts are overwhelming.

It can be a simple verse from His Word on a written card from a friend.

It can be a memory of a time long ago in a Sunday School class brought from the recesses of your mind.

It doesn't always thunder or split our ears--but it will always, if we allow it, touch our hearts!
