THE AUDACITY
Today's reading: Nehemiah 1-3

"Please remember what you told your servant Moses. If you sin, I will scatter you among the nations. But if you return to me and obey my commands, even if you are exiled to the ends of the earth, I will bring you back to the place I have chosen for my name to be honored." Nehemiah 1:8-9 NLT

Nehemiah was praying and had the audacity to 'remind' God of His own words.

He repeated God's own promise to Him.

He restated Scripture, before Scripture was even bound together in a single book.

I love it!

Sure, one might think it bold.

Or presumptuous.

Or rude.

Or one might believe it goes along with what God had asked of them all along...to know Him through what He had said. To take His words with belief and hopeful expectation.

Nehemiah knew enough of God to know what He had said, His promises, His warnings, His hope.

Do you?

Have you been in your Bible enough to know what God promises and what He doesn't?

Do you know enough of His own words to pray them back to Him when your heart is heavy?

Today is a good day to start looking deeply into His truths so you can pray them right back to God.
