TAKING HOLD
Today's reading: Judges 11-13

"When her son was born, they named him Samson. And the Lord blessed him as he grew up. And in Mahaneh-dan, which is located between the towns of Zorah and Eshtaol, the Spirit of the Lord began to take hold of him." Judges 13:24-25 NLT

This morning, I've got to share that I'm so glad God doesn't let go once He takes hold!

He doesn't give up when we do.

He doesn't relent when we tire.

He doesn't allow for excuses when we give Him a list of them a mile long.

He doesn't see the obstacles we see.

He doesn't see our inabilities as we see them.

He doesn't let go of us even when we try to shake Him off our hearts, out of our minds or away from our lives.

God's hold on our lives remains for our entire lives.

And for us, that can be good or bad depending upon our response to Him. Comforting or convicting. Providing peace or a constant source or guilt. It can be a drawing to Him or we can spin our wheels in an effort to run away.

And it's not just for us, it is for the lives of those we love, too.

Once God takes hold, He doesn't let go!
