WHO I KNOW HIM TO BE
Today's reading: Deuteronomy 19:1-21:9, Luke 9:1-22, Psalm 66:16-20

"One day Jesus was alone, praying, he came over to his disciples and asked them, Who do people say I am?..Then he asked them, Who do you say I am?" Luke 9:18-20 NLT

There came a time in my life when Jesus asked who He was to me.

He didn't want the answer I knew from listening to my preacher.

He didn't want the answer I'd learned in Sunday School.

He didn't even want the answer my parents had raised me to believe.

He wanted to know my thoughts.

Who He was to me.

He was asking about the relationship between the two of us.

Or was there one?

Did I know Him...or did I just know about Him?

Oh, I know Him!

I know the salvation He brought to my life!

I know of all the sins, and there are many, that He forgave and saved me from!

I know of the sweet communication there is between the two of us!

I know of the awe I have for Him, and the love He has for me!

Those are things no one could have ever taught me about, convinced me of or instructed me to speak of in the way that I now know them.

I know Him, do you?
