EVEN SO
Today's reading: Psalm 105-107

"Even so, he saved them--..." Psalm 106:8 NLT

Sitting in my prayer chair, pulled up beside God, discussing His Word, yesterday's happenings and today's plans, I am hit with the enormity of this verse.

He knows how very short I fall in being obedient. Even so, He saved me.

He knows what a mess I made of things yesterday. Even so, He saved me.

He already knows how I might run ahead of Him today, attempting to make my mark on the world, trying to mold the world and its inhabitants into the plans I have laid out. Even so, He saved me.

He knows I will allow my strongholds to override my seeking Him. Even so, He saved me.

He knows tomorrow I will repeat all that I've done. Even so, He saved me.

Even so, He saved me.

When the race is ended, and the play is either won or lost, and ye are in the utmost circle and border of time, and shall put your foot within the march of eternity, all the good things of your short night dream shall seem to you likes ashes of a blaze of thorns or straw.      - Samuel Rutherford
