OH HOW HE LOVES US
Today's reading: Amos 1-4

"Listen to this message that the Lord has spoken against you, O people of Israel and Judah-the entire family I rescued from Egypt: From among the families on earth, I chose you alone. That is why I must punish you for all your sins." Amos 3:1-2 NLT

As His.

As the ones rescued.

As the ones who were chosen.

As the most loved of all children in the world.

As the redeemed, He must distribute justice as well as love.

He didn't save us to allow us to become spoiled children.

He didn't rescue us so that we might do anything against His will.

He didn't set us apart as His to have ought against our brothers and sisters in Christ.

So He must punish us when we sin.

And He had to send a Savior to take that punishment.

Oh how He loves us.
