A EULOGY FOR ME
Today's reading:  Joshua 21-24

"Then Joshua called together the tribes of Reuben, Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh. He told them, You have done as Moses, the servant of the Lord, commanded you, and you have obeyed every order given you. You have not deserted the other tribes, even though the campaign has lasted for such a long time. You have been careful to obey the commands of the Lord your God up to the present day. And now the Lord your God has given the other tribes rest, as he promised them. So go home now..."  Joshua 22:1-4 NLT

I'm not sure who of you will be around when the time comes to plan my funeral, but let my wishes be known here and now...

I want this passage of Scripture read for my eulogy.

Let me re-phrase that...

I want to live a life that would allow this eulogy to be read at my funeral and everyone hearing it said about me agree--especially the Lord.

I want to end life having done what God has commanded me to do.

I want it to be said of me I was obedient to my Lord.

I want proof that I have not deserted anyone, especially my Christian brothers and sisters, on the journey of life.

I want to be one of the ones who has 'stuck it out'.

I want it known, by how I live/lived my life, that I am careful to follow God's commands.

I want people to know that in my lifetime I have seen His promises fulfilled.  I want others to hear me talk about them. I want to encourage others to wait it out for the promises in their lives to come true.

I want, at the end of my life, for it to be said--You've done all this...now go home, good soldier of the faith.
